What is Science?
Science is a systematic enterprise that builds and organizes knowledge in the form of testable explanations and predictions about the natural world. It involves observing, asking questions, making hypotheses, conducting experiments, and drawing conclusions based on evidence.
The Scientific Method
The scientific method is a systematic way of studying the natural world. It involves the following steps:
- Observation: Noticing something in the natural world that sparks curiosity.
- Question: Formulating a question based on the observation.
- Hypothesis: Making an educated guess to answer the question.
- Experiment: Testing the hypothesis through controlled experiments.
- Analysis: Collecting and analyzing data from the experiment.
- Conclusion: Drawing a conclusion based on the analysis and determining if the hypothesis is supported or refuted.
Branches of Science
Science is divided into different branches, including:
- Physical Science: Study of non-living systems, such as physics and chemistry.
- Earth Science: Study of the Earth and its processes, including geology, meteorology, and oceanography.
- Life Science: Study of living organisms, including biology and ecology.
